Center's Description
Happiness and Well-being are a way of life. They are a function of caring for our bodies, our minds and our hearts. This way of living involves a specific point of view and attitude about oneself and life. It includes a genuine commitment to living healthy and being contented with oneself and ones choices, and sharing compassion with others in my world, and the world at large.

The Zen Society, an American Zen Community, was founded in 1985 dedicated to providing a forum for the purpose of bringing together an interdenominational community of women and men committed to creating happiness and well-being in their lives and in the world through various eastern and western spiritual approaches, grounded in the practice of daily meditation, mindfulness living, creativity, wisdom, body work, diet, and compassion for all beings.

With an emphasis on the eastern principle of harmony and balance, yin and yang, a well balanced lifestyle is the key to happiness and a sense of well-being and contentment. A lifestyle rooted in mindful awareness of the needs of my body, my mind, my heart, and other beings including the whole of nature. We are all part of nature and everything in nature requires harmonious and balanced approaches to living, without which true happiness, vitality, joy and contentment is not possible.
