Independent Meditation Center Guide

""Karma," he [Buddha] often said, "is intention": i.e., a movement of the mind that occurs each time we think, speak, or act. By being mindful of this process, we come to understand how intentions lead to habitual patterns of behavior, which in turn affect the quality of our experience."
Stephen Batchelor, Buddhism Without Beliefs.

Center's Description
The Puget Sound Zen Center offers a supportive place for the practice of Zen Buddhism. Founded in 2002, we are located on Vashon Island, Washington, a short ferry ride away from Seattle, Tacoma, and the Olympic Peninsula.

We hold zazen meetings three times a week. We offer guest speakers throughout the year, occasion classes and programs, Buddhist ceremonies and short retreats four times a year.
