| The Nechung Buddhist Center, San Francisco, is a nonprofit organization. The faculty members of the Nechung Center teach all stages of Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan language. The Center holds monthly meditations classes, and training programs; organizes special talks, teachings and initiations by masters of all schools of Tibetan Buddhism; and hosts presentations on the Tibetan art of thangka painting, healing and astrology. Fund-raising efforts are directed toward supporting the Nechung monastic community in India and Tibet and creating educational and health-care facilities for Tibetan refugees. A long-term goal of the Nechung Center is to complete the refurbishment of the original monastery in Tibet. | |
