Independent Meditation Center Guide

"Mindfulness practice is very forgiving. It beckons to us to start over again, time after time after time, without judging us for the times we haven't managed to remember to drop in on ourselves."
Mark Williams, The Mindful Way through Depression.

Center's Description
The Buffalo Zen Dharma Community is a sitting group for Zen Buddhist practitioners in Buffalo, NY.

The weekly meetings of the BZDC provide space and time for people to engage with and deepen their sitting practice, as well as to broaden their understanding of Zen teachings, through dharma discourses from the teachers of Zen Mountain Monastery. It is a local manifestation of sangha, the community of practitioners that takes up the challenge of sitting together in a sustained way and supporting each other's efforts.

Our immediate goal is to provide an entry point into authentic Zen Buddhism, but our greater goal is to be of service to each other as well as to the Buffalo community as a whole physically, mentally, and spiritually.
