Center's Description
The Henry David Thoreau Sangha (“Hank”) meets every Monday night in Newton at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Meetings always include Zen meditation (zazen) and Zen liturgy. Sometimes there will also be dharma talks (lectures/discussions), opportunities for individual meetings with a teacher (dokusan) as well as other special events. Check the calendar. You are invited to attend all or any portion of the activities—whatever works for your schedule and inclination. We sit 25-minute periods, and do a few minutes of walking meditation (kinhin) between periods.
