Independent Meditation Center Guide

"Meditation teaches you how to loosen your monkey-grip on your experience and create a kind of inner spaciousness and relaxation by letting go of control and allowing things to be the way they are."

Center's Description
Beginner's Mind Sangha supports the practice and teachings of mindfulness and mindful living offered by Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. To be mindful means to dwell deeply in the present moment, to be aware of what is going on within and around us. Practicing mindfulness cultivates understanding, love, compassion, and joy. This practice helps us to take care of and transform suffering in our lives and in our society.

Beginner's Mind Sangha offers weekly sitting and walking meditation practice 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Wednesday at the Boise Yoga Center, 3113 Rose Hill. Silent Days of Mindfulness are offered at least quarterly, and weekend mindfulness retreats with out-of-town Dharma teachers are offered at least once a year. These practice opportunities are open to anyone interested.
