| Atma Jyoti Ashram is a spiritual institution devoted to the practice and teaching of Sanatana Dharma, the Eternal Religion, as found in the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The ashram is also dedicated to living the traditional Hindu monastic life. The sannyasis (monks) of the ashram are part of the Giri branch of the Swami Order which was founded (or reformed) by the great Non-Dual philosopher Shankara in the third century before Christ.
