|Life Is Busy. Mindfulness Can Help.
Not many of us can escape the demands of work, caregiving, pressures at school or fast-paced culture. The inherent stress of our lifestyle, expectations and responsibilities can take a toll on our health and emotional well-being. We can find ourselves overwhelmed, sleep-deprived and anxious trying to keep up. Mindfulness meditation is a proven way to help reduce stress, improve focus, restore balance and enhance well-being.
What Is Mindfulness Meditation?
Mindfulness is the ability to sustain attention to what is happening in the present moment without judgement. Simple, but not easy. You may have noticed that your mind is constantly running with thoughts. It's estimated that we have 60,000 to 70,000 thousand thoughts per day - that's about 48 thoughts per waking minute! And, according to a recent study published by Harvard University, we are only aware of what we are thinking about half of the time.
